Construction of the new US-98 connection to SR-158 at the Mississippi state line is now partially completed and reopened to traffic.
Motorists will no longer need to take previously posted detours. Barricades and detour signage along the project have been removed.
The highly anticipated opening of US-98 at this location will complement the recent opening of SR-158 from the state line to I-65 in Saraland in Mobile County. Motorists should expect work to continue in this area over the coming weeks. Reduced speeds and possible daytime lane closures are possible in this area until the project is fully complete.
