Motorists traveling between Mississippi and McDonald Road CR 39 (Exit 10) should prepare for possible delays as the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) begins a resurfacing and bridge improvement project on Interstate 10 in Mobile County.
The resurfacing project includes raising the Hall Road bridge over I-10 near the AL/MS state line to improve clearance and safety.
To facilitate the necessary raising, the Hall Road overpass will close starting May 4 for approximately 6 to 8 weeks for contractors to lift and permanently raise the structure. (May 2026-July 2026.)

What To Expect
- Detour in place: Hall Road traffic will be detoured during the Hall Road overpass bridge closure for the 6-to-8-week bridge improvement work.
- Overnight lane closures: Resurfacing work will take place nightly on I-10 between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.
- Weekend pause: Lane closures will be suspended from Fridays at 6 a.m. through Sundays at 7 p.m. due to increased traffic volumes during the busier travel season
- Cross-state impact: Drivers traveling between Alabama and Mississippi may experience increased travel times.
