The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has finished replacing the SR-50 bridge over Wind Creek in Tallapoosa County.

The $3.4 million crossing upgrade began in mid-2024.

It is located two miles east of the Martin Dam Hydroelectric Plant.

The SR-50 bridge over Wind Creek carries about 1,400 vehicles daily.

Crews shifted traffic from the original 1952 bridge onto the new structure in October 2025.

The contractor then demolished the former span and removed the old highway on the one-half mile project over the last few months.
