The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has kicked off its resurfacing project on SR-49 in Dadeville.
Crews began milling the 2.2-mile section of the state highway on Monday, October 26.

The project stretches from Dadeville’s south city limits, around the Tallapoosa County Courthouse and north to US-280.
ALDOT awarded the contract to Gary Ingram Grading and Paving after the contractor submitted a bid of $1.08M in March 2026.

The construction will require occasional lane closures through the heart of Dadeville.
The work is expected to wrap up by the end of the year.
