An Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) project on SR-293 (Milly Creek Lane) in Pike Road begins Monday, July 20, weather permitting.

The project will take place on SR-293 from SR-126 to SR-110 (Vaughn Road).

This project includes micro-surfacing, guardrail installation, and traffic striping.

ALDOT uses micro-surfacing, a protective, preventative treatment, to extend a road’s life.  The cost and time effective treatment is used to preserve structurally sound roads.

Motorists should expect lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the project. ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and remain cautious around people and equipment in the work zone.

The approximately $500,000 project was awarded to Asphalt Paving Systems, Inc., out of Hammonton, New Jersey, who had the lowest bid that met the project requirements.  The project is expected to be completed by Fall 2026.
