An Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) resurfacing project on US-84 in Enterprise begins Monday, July 27, weather permitting.
The project will take place on US-84 from SR-167 to the Dale County line.
The project includes resurfacing, placing a high-density mineral bond and traffic striping.
A high-density mineral bond is a pavement preservation treatment used to protect and extend the life of the roadway.
Motorists should expect lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the project. ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and remain cautious around people and equipment in the work zone.
The approximately $1.7 million project was awarded to Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc., out of Dothan, Ala., who had the lowest bid that met the project requirements. The project is expected to be completed in Fall 2026.
