A $2.9 million project to resurface 5.3 miles of SR-24 in eastern Franklin County began this week.
The project will pave the divided four-lane highway from CR-83 to the Lawrence County line. The contractor, Rogers Group, began milling Tuesday, Aug. 25.

Other resurfacing projects on SR-24 in Franklin County
Rogers Group has nearly completed paving on more than 8 miles of SR-24 from SR-247, east of Red Bay, to near CR-21, west of Belgreen. Subcontractors will install permanent stripe and pavement markers as scheduling and weather permit.
Earlier this year, the contractor completed the $3 million resurfacing of 5.5 miles of SR-24 from east of SR-243 in Russellville to CR-83.
