An Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) project on SR-196 (W. Magnolia Avenue) in Geneva begins Tuesday, Aug. 25, weather permitting.
The project will take place on SR-196 from SR-52 to SR-27.
This project includes planing, resurfacing, and traffic striping.
Motorists should expect lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the project. ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and remain cautious around people and equipment in the work zone.
The approximately $800,000 project was awarded to Southeast Construction Company, LLC, out of Geneva, Ala., who had the lowest bid that met the project requirements. The project is expected to be completed by Fall 2026.
