The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) plans to begin a pavement improvement project on US-82 in Pickens County near the Mississippi state line on Monday, Sept. 14.
The work will take place from approximately milepost 1.5 to milepost 4 and will include rehabilitating the existing pavement and placing new asphalt.
The project will be completed in phases with all work to be completed by Oct. 2, weather permitting. ALDOT also plans to start a resurfacing project in the area in spring 2027.
Motorists should expect possible delays and use caution while traveling through the work zone.
