Reports of storm debris are beginning to arrive in the southern parts of the state. ALDOT wants to remind everyone to avoid unnecessary travel as Hurricane Isaias makes landfall.

A Hurricane Warning is in effect for Mobile, Baldwin, Escambia, Conecuh, Covington, Coffee and Geneva counties, with a Tropical Storm Warning extending northward to the I-22/I-20 corridor.
A Flood Watch is in effect south, central after 7 pm and north after 1 am.
A High Wind Warning is in effect for the northeastern sections, with a Wind Advisory in the northwest.
Storm surge from 4-6 feet could occur along coastal areas and 2-4 ft in Mobile Bay tonight into early Saturday.

Welcome Centers and rest areas at the I-10 Florida and Mississippi state lines and on I-65 in Conecuh County are closed. Parking lots at all locations will remain open for the traveling public.
SOUTHWEST REGION UPDATE: Oct. 9 at 1:28 p.m.
Multiple bridges across the Southwest Region have closed for public safety.
In Gulf Shores, the W.C. Holmes Bridge and the AL-161 South Bridge closed at noon. The bridges will remain inaccessible until the storm has passed and conditions are deemed safe for travel.
Both the Al-161 and AL-59 bridges over the intercoastal waterway are closed. Access to Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and Fort Morgan are restricted to emergency services only.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is preparing for potential severe weather impacts associated with Hurricane Isaias and the storms expected to move into the state this weekend.
ALDOT is monitoring the weather with help from the National Weather Service, Alabama Emergency Management Agency, and other partners across the state. Following the storm, ALDOT’s priority will be to safely deploy crews to assess damage, clear debris and make any necessary repairs to roads, bridges, signs, and traffic signals.
