The Alabama Department of Transportation resurfacing project on SR-87 in Coffee County is set to begin Monday, June 30, weather permitting.
The project will improve almost eight miles of SR-87, from SR-134 to East Davis Street in Elba.
The $988,599.87 project was awarded to Asphalt Paving Systems, Inc., of Hammonton, New Jersey, as the lowest bidder. Work is expected to be completed by late summer or early fall 2025.
Motorists should expect minor delays and intermittent lane closures throughout the duration of the project.
ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and use caution around work zones.
