Planned lane closures on US-280, Jefferson County

Beginning at 7 p.m. on July 7, 2025, weather permitting, the Alabama Department of Transportation will close the westbound right lane of US-280 in Jefferson County, and beginning at 9 p.m. will close the westbound right, two lanes of US-280 for milling. The eastbound right lane will also be closed for saw cutting.

All travel lanes are expected to re-open at approximately 6 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

These same lane closures will be in place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, through Thursday, July 10, 2025.

Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this construction operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
