ALDOT is making final repairs to the damaged flyover bridge at the I-65 and I-565 interchange today.

A steel coil fell from a truck Tuesday and damaged the bridge and ramp from I-565 westbound to I-65 southbound.

Yesterday, ALDOT crews milled and paved to repair the asphalt roadway of the ramp, then began preparations for concrete repairs to the bridge deck and barrier rail.

Today, crews are pouring concrete for the repairs.

Motorists should expect closure of the outside lane on the ramp extending into this afternoon. Please reduce speed and be prepared to merge to the left lane.
