Linden Bypass recognized for environmental stewardship during construction
The Alabama Department of Transportation’s Grove Hill team and its contractor partners were recently recognized at the Clear Water Alabama Conference in Pell City, earning the 2025 Award of Excellence for their work on the US-43 Linden Bypass project.
The award highlights exceptional efforts in protecting Alabama’s natural resources, particularly through erosion, sediment, and stormwater management during construction. The Linden Bypass project stood out as a model for how public and private partners can deliver major infrastructure improvements while preserving the environment.
Project Highlights
- Award-Winning Effort: Selected for outstanding erosion and sediment control practices.
- Team Recognition: The Grove Hill ALDOT team—John Graham, Area Construction Engineer; Dereck Callaway, Area Storm Water Coordinator; Jake Bailey, Assistant Area Construction Engineer; and Daniel Ganus, Area Operations Engineer—played a central role in the project’s success.
