Contractor to pour bridge deck in Jasper

The Alabama Department of Transportation has approved lane closures to allow the contractor to pour the bridge deck on SR-5 over SR-69 (US-78A) in Jasper on Tuesday, April 30, weather permitting.

The contractor plans to close the SR-69 outside lanes from 5 a.m. until later in the afternoon.

The work is part of the ongoing bridge replacement and intersection improvement project that is intended to improve safety, mobility and commerce. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Wright Brothers Construction Company was awarded the project at $8.8 million.
