Homewood Diverging Diamond Interchange work begins at I-65 and Lakeshore Parkway

Work to build a Diverging Diamond Interchange is underway at I-65 and Lakeshore Parkway in Homewood.

Work is underway on the long-awaited Homewood DDI project.

The $29 million Diverging Diamond Interchange will upgrade traffic flow at Exit 255 on I-65 at Lakeshore Parkway (SR-149).

The contract was awarded to Gillespie Construction, with a funding partnership between ALDOT, the Greater Birmingham Regional Planning Commission and the City of Homewood.

Upcoming McAshan Drive DDI bridge girder installation requires rolling roadblocks

Rolling roadblocks are needed for bridge girder installation at future McAshan Road DDI next week.

Work to build Jefferson County’s first Diverging Diamond Interchange, or DDI, is reaching a significant milestone.
