Beginning at 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, weather permitting, the Alabama Department of Transportation will make guardrail repairs on I-65 NB and SB in Shelby County.
Details are as follows:
- Between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. at various times, crews will close segments of the outside (right) and inside (left) lanes of I-65 at various locations from the Chilton County line to the Jefferson County line.
- All travel lanes will be re-opened to traffic by 5 a.m. each morning
- The guardrail repairs will continue following this procedure for five consecutive nights (Sunday through Thursday nights)
Motorists can expect delays during these operations. Motorists should consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area.
