An Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) resurfacing project on SR-87 in Coffee County begins Monday, April 21, weather permitting.

The project will take place on SR-87 from Pea Creek to the Pike County Line.

This project includes micro-milling, resurfacing, bridge maintenance and traffic stripe.

Motorists should expect lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the project. ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and remain cautious around people and equipment in the work zone.

The approximately $3.5 million project was awarded to APAC-Alabama, Inc., out of Birmingham, who had the lowest bid that met the project requirements.  The project is expected to be completed in Fall 2025.
