Fayette Area ROADeo crowns top operators

Fayette Area ROADeo winners
Apr 24

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) held its annual equipment ROADeo for the Fayette Area on April 24. The event brought together some of the region’s most skilled heavy equipment operators for a day of competition and professional growth.

The ROADeo challenges participants to demonstrate both safety and precision as they navigate a series of hands-on equipment tests. Operators showcased their talents using a variety of machines, including single- and tandem-axle dump trucks, tractor mowers, backhoes, motor graders, skid-steer loaders, and lowboys.

Top performers from the Fayette Area — which covers Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Walker and Winston counties, as well as the northern half of Greene County — will advance to the statewide ROADeo in Montgomery on May 15. From there, they will complete for a chance to represent Alabama at the Southeast Regional Competition this fall in Kentucky.

ALDOT’s Tuscaloosa Area held its annual equipment ROADeo on April 16.
