Beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, weather permitting, the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will close the inside lane of both I-65 southbound and northbound for temporary concrete barrier installation and grading work for bridge access between exit 238 (Alabaster) and milepost 236.
All travel lanes are expected to re-open at approximately 6 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21.
These same lane closures will be in place again from 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, until 6 a.m., Friday, Aug. 22.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area.
ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this construction operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
