The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will host a come-and-go style public involvement meeting at the Childersburg Church of Christ to discuss a potential project on SR-235 involving plans for a road diet on approximately 9 miles of the highway.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. At this meeting, the public can ask questions and view exhibits regarding the proposed project.
Construction is expected to begin in early winter of 2026 and will take approximately 1 to 2 years to complete. The estimated construction cost is approximately $7.8 million.

ALDOT is conducting an in-person public involvement meeting for the proposed project. All comments regarding this project must be submitted on or before September 8, 2025.
