ALDOT crews will make drainage improvements at the intersection of US-31 and SR-99/Elm Street in Athens on Tuesday, Oct. 28.
US-31 will be closed in both directions between SR-99 and I-65. Traffic intending to travel north on US-31 will be rerouted to US-72 and I-65.
The southbound off-ramp from I-65 at Exit 354 will be closed. I-65 traffic bound for US-31 will be detoured to US-72 at Exit 351.
Work will start about 8 a.m. ALDOT anticipates reopening US-31 about 3 p.m.
