ALDOT advises motorists to expect daytime delays due to paving on US-72 East in Huntsville. Rogers Group will pave at the US-72 intersections with Shields Road and Moores Mill Road in Huntsville starting Thursday, Nov. 6.
Most paving on the $4 million, 6.5-mile resurfacing project from Moores Mill Road to east of the Flint River has taken place at night. However, as nighttime temperatures began falling below minimums required for the paving mix, ALDOT permitted work within restricted daytime hours.
The contractor will not begin single-lane closures westbound until after 9 a.m. and will remove eastbound lane closures by 3 p.m. ALDOT and the contractor will monitor traffic and adjust lane closures and work times as needed.
