The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will implement a right-lane closure on I-20/59 westbound from near Exit 71 to near milepost 69 in Tuscaloosa County to perform bridge deck rehabilitation.

The right lane will be closed Monday, Feb. 9 for approximately three weeks, weather permitting. The contractor will maintain at least one lane of traffic throughout the project.

Bridge deck rehabilitation involves repairing and restoring the concrete driving surface of a bridge to improve safety and extend the life of the structure. The process involves removing and replacing damaged concrete, sealing cracks and applying a new riding layer to provide a smoother and more durable roadway.

Drivers should expect possible delays and are encouraged to observe work-zone speed limits.
