The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has launched a US-411 resurfacing project in Odenville.
The 8.817-mile job stretches from Maddox Farm Road to the junction of the US-231/US-411 Roundabout.
That section of highway handles between 3,000-4,000 vehicles a day.
The milling work on the project begins this week, which includes the removal of the previous driving surface.
Motorists should expect traffic to be reduced to one lane and will be controlled by flaggers at each end of the operation with a pilot car. Lane closures will not exceed 2 miles.
The contractor should wrap up the resurfacing work by the end of the year.
