A $2 million project to resurface 3.5 miles of US-231/US-431/North Memorial Parkway in Huntsville will begin the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 8, weather permitting.
Grayson Carter And Son Contracting will resurface the parkway mainline from Country Club Avenue Northwest to Cedarama Drive Northwest.

The distance between the north and south ends of the project is about 5.5 miles. But the resurfacing project will not include about two miles that are part of the ongoing $34 million project to add lanes to North Memorial Parkway and construct an overpass at Mastin Lake Road. That project extends from south of Mastin Lake Road to Winchester Road.

Night work
To minimize traffic impacts, most work will take place at night. Expect single-lane closures between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights.
ALDOT anticipates completion in late fall.
