Expect interstate ramp closures in the Gadsden area on upcoming dates for maintenance paving by ALDOT.

The planned closures, and suggested alternate routes follow:

  • On Thursday June 11, ALDOT will shut down the I-59 northbound ramp to I-759 eastbound at Exit 182 from 8:30 a.m. to about 3 p.m. Northbound I-59 traffic can continue to Exit 183 and either take US-431 southbound or return to I-59 southbound to I-759.
  • On Monday June 15, crews will shut down the I-759 westbound ramp to I-59 southbound at the west end of I-759, beginning at 8:30 a.m. ALDOT estimates the closure lasting three or four hours. Traffic can exit to I-59 northbound instead, then take Exit 183 and return to I-59 southbound.
  • The afternoon of Monday, June 15, after work on the ramp to I-59 southbound is complete, crews will shift operations to the ramp from I-759 westbound to I-59 northbound. ALDOT expects another three- or four-hour closure, probably beginning about noon and lasting until 4 p.m. Traffic can take I-59 southbound to Exit 181 (SR-77) to return to I-59 northbound.

Dates are subject to change based on weather conditions. Please note that the times provided for completion are estimates. Closures will remain in place at each site until work is complete.
