Resurfacing of SR-283 in Centre in Cherokee County began this week.
The $725,566 project with contractor Wiregrass Construction will resurface SR-283 from US-411 to SR-9, about three-quarters of a mile.
The contractor began milling to remove the old road surface on Monday, Nov. 2. Weather permitting, paving will begin next week and reach completion by the end of the month.
Expect single-lane closures daily. Please drive with caution in the work zone.
