ALDOT brings official state Christmas tree from Fitzpatrick, Ala.

Each year, employees from the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) cut down, haul, install and help decorate the official state Christmas tree that sits at the top of the Capitol steps facing Dexter Avenue in Montgomery.

Nighttime lane closures set for Tennessee River Bridges rehab

Planned ramp closures on I-59 at Chalkville Mountain Road, Jefferson County

Planned lane closure on US-280, Jefferson County

Beginning at 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will close the right lane of US-280 westbound and eastbound in Jefferson County for widening between Shades Creek Parkway and the I-459 interchange.

US-29 resurfacing project in Macon County begins Monday

An Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) resurfacing project on US-29 in Macon County begins Monday, July 14, weather permitting.

The project will take place on US-29 from SR-186 to the Lee County Line.

RCUTs installed at two north Alabama intersections

At RCUT intersections like the one recently constructed on US-411 at Appalachian Highway in Etowah County, motorists on the main highway can still make left turns, but motorists on the side street must make a right, followed by a U-turn.
