SR-64 between Lexington and the Greenhill community will be closed Tuesday while crews replace a pipe under the roadway,

The Alabama Department of Transportation will close part of SR-64 in Lauderdale County for a pipe replacement Tuesday, Aug. 27.

Work to replace the pipe under the roadway will begin shortly after 8 a.m. ALDOT anticipates reopening the road that afternoon.

Crossovers have been constructed for the transition of traffic to and from the southbound I-59 roadway. This crossover will return traffic to the northbound roadway at the south end of the recently-constructed concrete segment.

Another segment of I-59 northbound in DeKalb County will soon close for reconstruction.

Contractors will remove and replace the entire northbound roadway from about milepost 229.5, north of Exit 224 (49th Street) in Fort Payne, to milepost 229, south of Exit 231 (SR-40/SR-117) in Hammondville.

US-43/US-72 (Woodward Avenue) near SR-184 (Second Street) in Muscle Shoals.

A $2.5 million resurfacing project will start Friday night on US-43/US-72 (Woodward Avenue) in Tuscumbia and Muscle Shoals.

Weather permitting, the contractor, Rogers Group, will close the eastbound outside lane throughout the weekend for deep patching. The contractor anticipates reopening the lane early Monday.

A reconstructed segment of northbound I-59 in DeKalb County opened to traffic today.

A four-mile segment of reconstructed I-59 northbound in DeKalb County opened to traffic this morning. It includes the northbound Exit 231 ramps at SR-40/SR-117 in Hammondville.

Contractor A.G. Peltz Group replaced the old roadway with a new concrete roadway between milepost 229 and milepost 233.5. This concludes the first phase of a $40.8 million project…
