In a heartfelt gesture of community support, employees of the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) Southwest Region presented a $700 check to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mobile earlier this week. The donation was the result of funds raised during the ALDOT Southwest Region Friends and Family Golf Tournament, which took place on April 22, 2024, at the Springhill College Golf Course in Mobile.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mobile provides a vital service by offering a “home away from home” for families with seriously ill or injured children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. Their mission is to provide comfort, care, and support to these families during difficult times, ensuring they can stay together and focus on their child’s healing process without the added stress of finding accommodations.

The ALDOT Southwest Region Friends and Family Golf Tournament has become an annual tradition aimed at raising funds for local charitable organizations like the Ronald McDonald House. This year’s event brought together ALDOT employees and their families, as well as community members, for a day of golf and philanthropy.

The $700 donation will directly benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mobile and help them continue to provide essential services to families in crisis. This generous contribution underscores ALDOT’s commitment to giving back to the community and supporting organizations that make a difference in the lives of families facing challenging circumstances.
