The Alabama Department of Transportation plans to resurface and place new traffic striping on a portion of SR-129 in Marion County from near the Lauderdale Road intersection to the Winston County line to improve mobility and safety.
The four-mile project is expected to begin the week of March 17 and will continue until late summer 2024, weather permitting. A pilot car will guide traffic through the work zone.
S.T. Bunn Construction Company was awarded the project at $2.86 million.
Motorists should expect possible delays and are encouraged to observe work-zone speed limits.
