Did you know that the opening of the Lanett Welcome Center in January 2022, was also the launch of ALGO Kiosks in Alabama welcome centers and rest areas. This was developed as an additional component of ALGO Traffic to provide traveler information to the public visiting ALDOT maintained facilities. The ALGO Kiosk displays current travel times, road conditions, and weather conditions to the public.
Welcome Centers and Rest Areas around the state will be upgraded with ALGO Kiosks as IT infrastructure becomes available. The next three facilities that are scheduled to be rebuilt are the Ardmore Welcome Center on I-65 Southbound at the Tennessee Line; and the two Butler County Rest Areas on I-65.
