Bids opened for three north Alabama resurfacing projects

The Alabama Department of Transportation opened bids Friday for three north Alabama resurfacing projects totaling more than $9 million.

A nearly six-mile project on US-72 in Jackson County will resurface from CR-42 to east of Crow Creek in Stevenson. Of two bidders, contractor Rogers Group submitted the apparent low bid of $3,930,572.

In Colbert County, 3.6 miles of US-72/US-43/Woodward Avenue from SR-20 in Tuscumbia to SR-184 in Muscle Shoals will be resurfaced. Of three bidders, Rogers Group submitted the apparent low bid of $2,520,610.

The third project will resurface about five miles of US-43 in Franklin County, from CR-36 to Underwood Road in Russellville. Of three bidders, Rogers Group submitted the apparent low bid of $2,801,740.

All projects include milling, paving, guardrail installation, and traffic stripe. Construction is pending bid review and award of the contracts. To see the project details, visit the project letting page of the ALDOT website.
