Resurfacing project on SR-27 in Geneva County begins Thursday, May 2

Apr 30

An Alabama Department of Transportation project on SR-27 in Geneva County will begin Thursday, May 2, weather permitting.

The project will consist of shoulder widening and resurfacing from the Geneva County line for 4.6 miles to the beginning of the four-lane section.

Travelers should remain mindful of people and equipment in the work zone and plan accordingly for delays from lane closures and a reduced speed limit.

ALDOT awarded the $1.4 million project to Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc., out of Dothan, Ala., which had the lowest bid that met project requirements. The project is expected to be completed in Summer 2024.
