Norfolk Southern will shut down the railroad crossing on SR-77 near US-11 in Attalla at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, for repairs.

The closure will remain in place for about 48 hours.

Norfolk Southern will set up signs for detours, routing traffic south of the closure to I-59, and traffic north of the closure to US-431 and US-11.

In neighboring Gadsden, Alabama & Tennessee Railroad operator OmniTRAX is working to upgrade the US-431 rail crossing near the former Goodyear plant. The work requiring partial closure of the crossing should be complete this week.
